US University Rankings 2018

U.S. News ranked Princeton University in the No. 1 spot in its annual rankings of the nation’s best colleges and universities, followed by Harvard University. The University of Chicago and Yale University are tied for No. 3. MIT shares the No. 5 spot with Columbia University and Stanford University.

Emory University was ranked 21st among the nation’s top universities in the 2018 Best Colleges guidebook from U.S. News & World Report. In addition, the University was cited for its economic diversity, with 23 percent of its undergraduates receiving need-based Pell Grants, and among schools with the largest percentage of international undergraduates at 16 percent.

Pepperdine University continues to climb the U.S. News rankings as one of America’s “Best National Universities.” It was ranked 46th out of 310 national institutions of higher learning, advancing four spots higher than its 2017 ranking of number 50.

The University of Cincinnati was ranked No. 133 among America’s Best National Universities, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 rankings of top tier national universities. That’s up two places from last year’s 135th ranking. Among top public universities, UC was ranked No. 63.

Times Higher Education Ranking 2018

Oxford University has claimed the No. 1 spot in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018, ahead of the University of Cambridge (2nd), California Institute of Technology (=3rd) and Stanford University (=3rd).

The University of Melbourne is ranked 32nd in the world, up from 33rd last year. This result confirms the University of Mebourne’s position as Australia’s top rated university.

Swansea University has achieved its highest ever ranking in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2017/2018, and now appears among the top 300 elite institutions across the globe, with a ranking between 251-300 having climbed over a hundred places in the last three years.

Heriot-Watt University has been placed in the 351-400 grouping, up from the 401-500 grouping last year. It is ranked joint 48th out of 92 in the UK compared to joint 52nd last year. It is also ranked in the top 50 universities in the world for International Outlook, based on our international staff percentage, international co-authorship and percentage of international students.
