University of Minnesota--Twin Cities is the highest ranked and the only Tier 1 National University in the state of Minnesota, placed 61st in the country by the US News & World Report in 2009.

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (U of M) is the oldest and largest part of the University of Minnesota system. It is one of the World's Top 100 institutions:
